The grand opening of the aquarium in Charleston is a highly-anticipated event, and Theodosia has been tasked with providing tea, scones, and sandwiches for the exclusive party held in honor of important guests and generous donors. Everything seems to be going smoothly until Theodosia takes a brief break from the festivities, only to make a chilling discovery: the lifeless body of a man tangled in a net, drowned in one of the aquarium's cutting-edge tanks.

To make matters even more tragic, the victim turns out to be Theodosia's ex-boyfriend, Parker Scully. While the EMTs initially rule Parker's death as an accidental drowning, Theodosia's keen eye picks up on marks that suggest foul play. With the local authorities dismissing her theories due to her personal connection to the deceased, Theodosia knows she must take matters into her own hands if she wants to uncover the truth behind Parker's untimely demise.
