About the book

The aliens’ attempt to attack Earth was stopped by destroying their seed ship, but Mars is still controlled by the Lanky forces. Survivors are working hard to rebuild their fighting abilities and strengthen the planet's defenses. Platoon sergeant Andrew Grayson is tasked with quickly training new volunteers, all the while trying to cope with his traumatic memories of battle with alcohol and medication.

Realizing that Earth's temporary peace will not last, the North American Commonwealth and its allies from Sino-Russian alliance are faced with two risky options: launching an attack on the Lanky forces on Mars or pursuing deserters who have stolen a fleet of crucial warships needed to win the war. Grayson and his wife, dropship pilot Halley, are assigned to a special recon mission to investigate the renegades’ base on a distant moon. Once again, they are thrust into the heat of battle and a brutal new phase in the fight for humanity's survival.
