During a scouting expedition to a moon displaying signs of potential life, Andrew and his specialized team make two significant discoveries. The first is a ray of hope: a form of protein and plant life that could potentially save the starving population in their isolated system. The second, however, is a nightmare come true: the planet is infested with Lankies. Unlike the mindless enemies Andrew has faced in the past, these creatures possess a terrifying level of awareness and hold secrets of their own in the shadows.

As the Lankies become aware of the intruders in their domain, Andrew's mission turns into a descent into chaos and danger. The odds are stacked against his small team, and the question of how to survive in this hostile environment looms large.
