About the book
Since Jamie and Henri agreed to be Kingsmen consultants, they have not been called upon to provide consultation services. This is fortunate, as Henri is already overwhelmed with lab work and interviews for a new Magical Examiner following Sanderson's departure. He simply cannot handle any more responsibilities at the moment.
However, as luck would have it, two crises hit simultaneously. A daring group of thieves managed to steal an impressive three hundred thousand crowns worth of gold from the railroad. The authorities are at a loss as to how this could have happened and who may be responsible. The Kingsmen assigned to the case are puzzled, as this is not within their usual scope of work. As a result, they turn to their Kingsmen consultants, Jamie and Henri, to help solve the week-old case.
To add to the chaos, there is someone sneaking through the palace wards on a regular basis, causing concern among the staff. No one knows how this intruder is gaining access, and Seaton is frantically trying to find answers. Henri finds himself pulled into the investigation to assist Seaton.
As Jamie might say, "When it rains, it pours."
