About the book

How can you describe your role in the grandest story ever told?

I pose this question because it is my duty. My name is Zoe Boutin Perry: a colonist marooned on a dangerous frontier planet. Revered figure to an extraterrestrial species. Participant (and a mere pawn) in a cosmic game of chess to safeguard humanity, or to witness its downfall. Observer of historical events. Companion. Offspring. Homo sapiens. Seventeen years of age.

Every inhabitant of Earth is familiar with the narrative in which I am entwined. However, my personal saga remains untold: the actions I undertook — the decisions I made — not only to prolong my own existence but also to ensure your survival, as well. All of you. I shall share my tale with you now, employing the only manner I know: not linear but genuine, recounting every detail in an attempt to convey the emotions I experienced: the elation and dread, the uncertainty and awe, the fear and hope. Every occurrence that led us to Earth, and Earth out of its imprisonment. All perceived through my perspective.

It is a familiar narrative. Yet, the entirety remains undisclosed.
