On Gansett Island, Hurricane Ethel has caused devastation, but the residents are coming together to clean up. McKenzie Martin, who narrowly escaped the storm with her son, Jax, is grateful for the help of Police Chief Blaine Taylor and her neighbor Duke Sullivan. Duke offers McKenzie a place to stay in his garage apartment as she starts to rebuild her life on the island.

Duke finds himself falling for McKenzie, despite their age difference and his rough exterior. McKenzie, in turn, is drawn to Duke's kindness and charm. As they grow closer, they navigate the challenges of post-storm life on the island, while dealing with personal and legal issues.

Meanwhile, the community bands together to search for missing residents and support each other through the emotional aftermath of the storm. In times of trouble, Gansett Island residents always come together to rebuild and strengthen their community.
