The UFS Phoenix is on a risky mission to find the AI Ceephay Queen who reigns over the Reeh Empire. This war aims to evacuate the corbi homeworld of Rando, correcting a major injustice in croma history by rescuing two hundred million corbi from reeh oppression.

Despite opposition from her parren superiors, Lisbeth decides to utilize drysine technology and parren firepower to aid in the evacuation effort. Meanwhile, Erik leads Phoenix, along with Styx's four drysine warships, to Eshir where Styx believes the Ceephay Queen may be hiding. In the ancient city of Qalea, buried beneath layers of Reeh Empire history, Trace and Styx must venture on an expedition to unveil its long-forgotten secrets. Locating the current whereabouts of the Ceephay Queen could be the key to humanity's salvation. However, the secrets of Qalea have been safeguarded by the reeh for centuries, secrets that could shake their Empire to its core, and they will go to great lengths to keep them hidden.
