That’s exactly what former CIA turned suburbanite Merry Wrath discovers when she returns home from a disastrous pool party with her Girl Scout troop. But this is Iowa, not Chechnya, and Aslan is far from friendly, having realized Merry double-crossed him in her previous CIA life.

Seeking revenge for the humiliation, Aslan gives Merry an ultimatum: either kill her former handler, Riley Andrews, or face the threat of Aslan’s goons, Ron and Ivan, killing her husband, Rex.

With the arrival of Merry’s colleague Hilly (who is technically not an assassin since the CIA doesn’t employ assassins – that would be illegal), Merry begins to hope that they can find a way to avoid killing Riley and protect Rex. However, their plans are interrupted when Merry comes face-to-face with a dead body, and Hilly tells the police she witnessed Ron and Ivan disposing of it. Merry knows this cannot be true, as she was with the bumbling rogues when the murder occurred.

Now Merry finds herself in a twisted dilemma. With Hilly and Riley being eyed as suspects in the murder, Merry must decide whether to remain silent and let Ron and Ivan take the fall, or do the right thing by helping Ron and Ivan implicate her friends. As Merry treads carefully, she must navigate the fine line between doing the right thing for the wrong people, or the wrong thing for the right people.
