Despite the good news that the ship is not stolen and Dirk's warrant has been cancelled, they must now complete a small favor for Tribune Devin. This favor includes updating the ship's weapons, investigating what is happening coreward, assisting with Scruggs's warrant, and meeting up with an ex-girlfriend. How hard could it possibly be, right? Unfortunately, a botched heist, a shady repair agreement, and the unexpected arrival of an enemy warship add complications to the situation.

Now Dirk must make a decision. Will he continue as a mercenary, embrace the role of a privateer, or remain a loyal servant of the Empire? Is it possible for him to be all three at once?
