Dirk Friedel, previously an Imperial Duke, now finds himself as a washed up freighter captain. A shady broker presents him with an opportunity to earn easy money by stealing some obsolete cargo and transporting it off-planet. Dirk and his crew of amateur thieves eagerly accept the offer. After all, who would notice a few crates of worthless supplies and some broken-down trucks missing?

However, as they soon discover, the supplies are not what they seem. They find themselves evading the Imperial navy and reluctantly becoming mercenaries in a civil war. Trust becomes a scarce commodity as they navigate through uncertain allegiances. Will they succeed in their mission to collect a payoff before the empire intervenes, or will they become casualties in the conflict?
