Full time baker and part time sleuth, Sally Muccio, is excited for a spontaneous getaway at Bella Vita, a lovely local inn that has recently been renovated by a friend of her father. Sal has been asked to provide treats for Bella Vita's open house and, on top of earning some extra cash, her whole family gets to stay at the bed and breakfast for free.

However, when a winter storm hits and the power goes out, Sal discovers the lifeless body of the owner, Guido Sorrentino, turning the night into something straight out of a horror movie. Initially planning to leave the investigation to the police, Sal changes her mind when her father's life is put in danger too. Who wanted Guido dead and what connection does her father have to the crime? Was Guido involved with organized crime? And why was he seemingly tempting fate?

With a group of vengeful and resentful relatives celebrating Guido's demise instead of mourning him, the list of suspects grows longer. It's now up to Sal to uncover the killer before she becomes the next victim!
