About the book

I caught sight of her first.

She was blonde, gorgeous, and feisty.

I was completely mesmerized.

However, it doesn’t matter because a few hours later, she emerges from my roommate’s room wearing only half her clothes, and I know that my opportunity is gone.

When her boyfriend, who is also my best friend, tragically passes away, we are left to mourn together. Instead of pushing her away, I find myself drawing her closer.

Just as we begin to accept our new reality, she discovers she is pregnant.

Her religious parents would never approve of a child out of wedlock, so to spare them disappointment, I propose to be her fake husband. The hand-holding, kissing, and sharing a bed—it tears at my heart, but I push aside the guilt and go along with the charade.

As the boundaries between reality and falsehood blur, I finally admit that I am not pretending.

But she is not ready to acknowledge the same.

I am in love with the girlfriend of my best friend, but she can never be mine.

Between Hate and Desire is the first book in the Between Us trilogy and should be read in sequence. This is suitable for mature audiences only. The story explores loss, grief, and contains adult themes. It is a slow burn romance that concludes with a happily ever after.
