Augustus Everett and January Andrews

Augustus Everett is a well-known author specializing in literary fiction, while January Andrews is famous for her bestselling romance novels. Their writing styles could not be more different – while January brings joy and happy endings to her stories, Augustus prefers to bring tragedy by killing off all his characters.

Despite their opposite approaches to storytelling, the two writers find themselves in a similar situation. They are both struggling with writer's block and are living in neighboring beach houses for the next three months, both dealing with financial difficulties.

One night, in a moment of inspiration, they come up with a unique idea to help each other break out of their creative slumps. Augustus agrees to write a happy story for the summer, while January will attempt to write a groundbreaking novel. They decide to support each other by going on unconventional research trips – January will show Augustus the romantic side of life, while he will introduce her to more dark and mysterious subjects.

Despite their agreement to not let their professional relationship turn into romance, will they be able to resist the sparks that fly between them as they collaborate on their writing projects? Only time will tell.
