About the book

Katie Vaughn has had her heart broken in the past, but now she may be setting her career on fire. She faces a decision: either wait to be laid off from her job as a video producer or, as her coworker Cole suggests, take on a career-defining project to profile Tom ‘Hutch’ Hutcheson, a Coast Guard rescue swimmer in Key West. The only problem is, Katie isn't exactly qualified for the job - she can't swim, but she decides to pretend she can.

To make matters more complicated, Cole and Hutch are brothers who don't get along. Despite the tension, Katie finds herself in paradise as she becomes involved with Hutch, the most attractive man she has ever met (though he may not be the biggest fan of love), his eccentric aunt Rue, and his loyal Great Dane. However, Katie soon finds herself caught in a web of lies. She experiences swim lessons, helicopter rides, conga lines, drinking games, hurricanes, and stolen kisses, all while grappling with the opportunity to come clean, confront her fears, and finally show true bravery.
