No one in Bradley, North Carolina, is shedding tears over the murder of Parke Stockard. Certainly not retired schoolteacher Myrtle Clover. The victim, a charming yet disliked town developer, had a lot of money but very few friends. Myrtle has plenty of potential suspects close by that she could throw one of her colorful garden gnomes at. Even when another murder occurs, Myrtle remains determined - armed with just a heavy cane, sharp wit, and a helpful widower sidekick.

Like her characters, Elizabeth Spann Craig hails from a small Southern town, Matthews, North Carolina. She spent her childhood in Anderson, South Carolina.
