Stephanie Laurens was first introduced to the world of Regency England romances, which still hold a special place in her heart. After leaving the field of professional science to pursue writing, Stephanie started off with Regency romances before transitioning to longer, historical romances set in the same era. Her debut novel, Captain Jack's Woman, was released by Avon Books in 1977. Since then, Avon has published a series of books following the Bar Cynster - a group of proud and powerful cousins from the ducal Cynster family. Titles such as Devils' Bride, A Rake's Vow, Scandal's Bride, A Rouge's Proposal, and A Secret Love have explored the lives of these captivating Cynsters.
