Otto Penzler, the owner of The Mysterious Bookshop in the bustling city of New York, has had a long and successful career in the world of mystery and suspense fiction. He served as the publisher of The Armchair Detective, a prestigious quarterly journal that focuses on the analysis of mystery and suspense literature, earning the coveted Edgar award during his seventeen-year tenure. In addition to his work with The Armchair Detective, Mr. Penzler founded The Mysterious Press, which has since been acquired by the Warner publishing empire. He also established Otto Penzler Books, an imprint now under Carroll & Graf, as well as The Armchair Detective Library, dedicated to republishing timeless crime fiction for avid collectors and library enthusiasts.
