About the book

Nadia Williams is in need of a peaceful place to come to terms with her grief following the brutal murder of her mother. She discovers a charming cabin by a serene lake in the idyllic town of Misted Pines in the Pacific Northwest.

Upon her arrival, Nadia instantly feels that it's the perfect retreat.

However, on her very first night, she is startled by a strange scratching at her window.

The next day, she meets her only neighbor, Doc Riggs, a rugged and jovial man who immediately clashes with Nadia. Both are disgruntled about having to share the lake.

As Nadia delves into the history of her cabin, she learns about the local legend that it's haunted by the ghost of a man who was murdered there fifteen years earlier.

Riggs and Nadia soon find themselves entangled in a complex web of past events, betrayal, sorrow, and hidden truths. The only certainty is that someone - or something - is determined to drive them away from the lake.
