When the local veterinarian reaches out to Della for help in solving the mystery of sick dogs in the southern part of Clover, her beloved home in the Ozarks, she cannot refuse. Being a dog lover, the idea of someone harming these animals fills her with rage.

After thorough investigation, Della identifies several possible suspects who may have been behind the dogs consuming toxic coconut and chocolate.

There is no shortage of individuals with potential motives. From a passionate animal rights activist to a man irritated by the dogs marking his tree planted in memory of his father. There is also a struggling dog trainer and a woman more concerned with her flower beds than the dogs digging in them. But which one of them is responsible? That is the question plaguing Della!

In addition, an FBI agent arrives in Clover to look into the death of Della's husband, believed to be a hit-and-run accident. Shockingly, the agent uncovers evidence suggesting it was murder, putting Della's life at risk.

Thankfully, she finds comfort in her loyal St. Bernard, Moose. But can she truly feel safe?
