Joe the Ritualist fled Alfheim with the remaining members of the Dwarven Oligarchy by his side. Though their numbers are still in the tens of thousands, they are on the verge of extinction; and the new land they have arrived in is unforgiving. Jotunheim is a frozen wilderness inhabited by a variety of monsters: ranging from massive lizard-ape Hoardlings to towering, carnivorous penguins.

The world is vast, dangerous, and desolate, but Joe only sees opportunity. With his expertise in creating structures with magic, the Ritualist begins constructing a fortified area for his companions. Thick walls, weapon and armor workshops, and magical defenses are all swiftly put into place to fend off the relentless creatures. However, in their naivety, they believe that expanding rapidly will ensure their safety.

But in a land of giants, increasing production only serves to attract more danger.
