Cayce’s art is highly regarded by her peers, leading to the emergence of forgers, imitators, and even enemies. However, everything changes when her beloved model and best friend is brutally murdered, with the masterpiece painted on her skin ripped from her body. Cayce realizes she is facing a collector of a different kind.

Although Detective Richard Henderson is not well-versed in art, he has a keen interest in the artist Cayce. He is intrigued by the unique element present in her work, but struggles to pinpoint exactly what it is and how she incorporates it into her creations.

As more models end up dead with their bodies violated for souvenirs, both Cayce and the detective come to understand that there is more at play than just Cayce’s art. It’s a matter of Cayce’s very soul.
