About the book

Detective Kate Morgan has been assigned the task of determining whether the body found floating in the harbor is a result of a crime. If not, she must move on to other pending cases on the team's desks. However, nothing is ever easy in her line of work. As she uncovers similar cases in neighboring police districts, the scope of her investigation grows exponentially.

But delving into this particular case leads Kate into Simon's world of renovating old buildings in downtown Vancouver. Simon, who has a talent for restoring neglected structures, warns Kate that they may find themselves deeply involved in the final showdown. However, the reality of the situation turns out to be much darker than either of them could have anticipated.
