In the aftermath of World War II in London, The Right Sort Marriage Bureau finds themselves entangled in yet another murder mystery.

Immediately following the war, a formidable duo, Miss Iris Sparks, and Mrs. Gwendolyn Bainbridge, embark on a unique business venture with their matchmaking service. Sparks, a woman with a secretive past in British intelligence, partners with Bainbridge, a refined war widow with family complications. Planning a New Year's Eve celebration for their clients, the two women stumble upon a body hidden within the walls of an empty building. What they first assume to be a casualty of the Blitz turns out to be a victim of multiple stab wounds.

Complicating matters, the building's owner is Sparks' romantic interest, Archie Spelling, who has connections to both legal and illicit enterprises. Adding to the tension, the lead investigator on the case is Sparks' former fiancé. Meanwhile, Bainbridge navigates her own love life as she re-enters the dating scene after her husband's passing.

While murder is not part of their business plan, the killer may be closer than they realize. Sparks and Bainbridge must protect their clients, their livelihoods, and themselves as they unravel the mystery lurking in their midst.
