Kyron made a solemn vow to himself that he would never work with dogs again. However, when Badger approached him to travel back to Aspen and help track down a missing War Dog with a missing left leg, just like Kyron, he couldn't say no. This meant facing his brother and sister-in-law once more, although he harbored no ill feelings towards them. It was his parents he couldn't handle.

Locating the dog seemed like the least of Kyron's worries upon his return to Aspen, especially when he discovered that a captivating woman running a rescue had already found the missing dog. To his surprise, the dog was not alone...

Miranda dedicated all her time and effort to ensuring the safety of her animals, working two jobs to provide for them.
