About the book

For Caleb, coming back to his hometown for his brother's wedding was supposed to be a joyful occasion. However, since his brother is marrying Caleb's ex-wife, he is hesitant to attend the event. Despite his reservations, Caleb decides to return because his best friend Laysha is also in town and they have not seen each other in a long time. Additionally, Caleb has been asked to investigate the disappearance of a War Dog that was once adopted out.

Upon his return, Laysha is thrilled to have Caleb at her house, even though she is aware of his unresolved issues with his ex-wife. When Caleb and Laysha visit the last known location of the missing War Dog, they stumble upon a dead body instead, leading to a dark and dangerous situation.

To make matters worse, they are spotted at the scene and now find themselves in the crosshairs of someone with malicious intent. Caleb must navigate this dangerous game in order to protect everything that is dear to him.
