Jojo Moyes, a British novelist, is known for her successful career in writing. She attended Royal Holloway, University of London and received a bursary from The Independent newspaper to study journalism at City University. After working for The Independent for a decade, she decided to pursue writing full time in 2001. Moyes' novel Foreign Fruit was honored with the Romantic Novelists' Association (RNA) Romantic Novel of the Year award in 2004. Her work has gained international recognition, with the film adaptation of her book Me Before You, starring actors Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke, becoming a box-office hit upon its release in June 2016. Jojo also wrote the screenplay for the film. Outside of her writing career, Jojo Moyes is happily married to journalist Charles Arthur and they have three children together.
