About the book

Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin, has been approached by the Archbishop of Canterbury to assist in the investigation of two bodies discovered in an ancient crypt, with their violent deaths occurring many years apart. One of the deceased is the Bishop of London, the elderly Archbishop's favored successor despite being a controversial figure. The identity of the second corpse remains a mystery lost to time.

As Sebastian delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a list of potential suspects that includes some of the Prince Regent's closest associates and William Franklin, the embittered son of the renowned American patriot Ben Franklin.
