About the book

Widow Mimi resides on the picturesque Mackinac Island, where automobiles are not permitted and a Gibson martini with three onions at the stroke of midnight is a must. Her distant granddaughter, Addie, is recovering from the heartache of being not only dumped by her fiancé, Brian, but also excluded from the successful video game they co-created, Murderscape (with Addie handling most of the work).

When Mimi receives an invitation from wealthy socialite Jane Ireland—a self-absorbed septuagenarian who is romantically involved with her son-in-law—to attend a charity auction, she decides to bring Addie along. However, Mimi keeps the ominous secret of a blackmail threat from Jane that hangs over the event.

As they reach the venue, a fierce storm descends, stranding all the guests in the mansion. Tragedy strikes when Jane is found murdered. Mimi and Addie are forced to work together to identify the culprit amidst their strained relationship. With another body emerging, the duo realizes they are caught in a dangerous game, with their lives on the line.
