The mourning period takes an unexpected turn when it is revealed that Gregory died from poisoning, leading to Fiona becoming the prime suspect in the murder. River is convinced that her mother is being framed, and she is determined to prove her innocence. Teaming up with the sheriff, her former high school adversary, is a small price to pay in her quest for justice.
