The Accidental Marriage
About the book
Ares Huxley, a billionaire lawyer, was kidnapped by his mother at age ten and left to die in a fire. As a result, he trusts no one. However, in order to secure a critical promotion at his law firm, he needs to find a wife. The morning after a friend's bachelor party, he wakes up to discover that he is married to an eccentric blonde whom he doesn't even remember meeting!
Initially, Ares plans to annul the marriage, but it turns out that his new wife needs a spouse to receive her inheritance. Despite having nothing in common, they strike a deal - she will act as his dream wife in exchange for his cooperation.
The terms are straightforward: they must share a bed every night, keep emotions out of the equation, and separate after six months once they both achieve their goals.
However, living with his accidental wife doesn't go according to Ares' expectations. Despite her innocence, she proves to be spirited both inside and outside the bedroom. His family quickly grows fond of her, and upon discovering her mistreatment by her own family, Ares feels compelled to protect her. His feelings for her begin to evolve.
Ares finds himself captivated by his unexpectedly charming, irresistible, and delightful fake wife. Yet, despite his changing sentiments, she adheres to the rules of their fake marriage a bit too dutifully.
As Ares realizes that the one thing his wife desires from him is something he cannot bring himself to do: let her go.
