About the book

As they were growing up, Madison Taylor and her younger brother Lincoln enjoyed a life of privilege. However, everything changed when their father was arrested for fraud and their family's assets were taken away. Madison decided to pursue a career in fashion and eventually became the editor in chief of La Femme magazine, while Lincoln became a wealth management teacher at a small college.

Both siblings distanced themselves from their family and past, until they unexpectedly inherited a marina at Smugglers Cove on the Navesink River from their late uncle. Instead of a luxurious property, they found a rundown dock, gas pumps, and clam boats on the premises. Their plan to sell the marina is derailed when a dead body is discovered under their dock, turning their inheritance into a crime scene.

Madison and Lincoln find themselves immersed in small-town Jersey shore life, encountering eccentric characters, pirate legends, and a mysterious treasure map. They are forced to adapt to their new surroundings, swapping their city attire for cargo pants and flannel shirts. With a mystery to unravel and important decisions to make, they realize that they need to quickly learn valuable lessons about themselves and each other.
