Dan Carter holds the position of head of the London office at Private, the largest and most advanced investigation agency in the world. Jack Morgan, the owner and CEO of Private, has placed his trust in Carter by assigning him some of their most critical cases, including that of Hannah Shapiro. Hannah, the daughter of one of Private's most affluent clients, was kidnapped along with her mother when she was just thirteen years old. Tragically, only Hannah survived the ordeal. Currently, Hannah resides in London where she is pursuing her studies at a prestigious university, and it is Carter's responsibility to ensure her safety.

Unfortunately, history repeats itself when Hannah is kidnapped for the second time in her young life. With the vast resources of Private at his disposal, Carter launches an investigation into her disappearance. However, as time passes without any communication from the kidnappers, concerns for Hannah's well-being grow. Furthermore, a series of unsolved murders involving young women have been occurring recently, adding an additional layer of fear to the situation. Carter can only hope that Hannah is not the next victim in this disturbing pattern.
