Following a challenging winter, Eli is faced with an unusual predicament as an ancient dungeon is unearthed on his land. This could serve as a perfect test for the students who have achieved their Class, but it also poses a deadly threat.

Complicating matters further is the imminent danger looming over the town of Last Stop. The Edgelands are encroaching, devouring entire cities in a single night. With no other refuge for the children, Eli must devise a solution to both crises that only a Master Enchanter could pull off. With the support of a few devoted women, he believes that anything is achievable.
