About the book

Maniac had a tough early life that left him with physical and mental scars. Fortunately, he found the Iron Punishers before things got too bad and they became the family he needed. Now, as their VP, he works to protect them.

Despite his love for his club family, Maniac feels restless and longs for a family of his own - a partner and children. A recommendation from a fellow Punisher leads him to help a local center for at-risk kids, and maybe even find what he's been missing.

Lark is in charge of the Fortress of Bravery, a center focused on helping at-risk kids and steering them away from gangs. Her own past with gangs has shaped her life, and meeting the Punishers, especially Maniac, brings back memories of what she lost along the way.

As Maniac and the Punishers get involved with Lark and the kids at the Fortress, he tries to get closer to her. Their pasts and the dangers they face start to come to light, revealing that they both carry scars and have their own struggles.

As the Punishers work to rid the town of gang influence, Maniac and Lark become closer. The possibility of a future together is within reach, as long as they can eliminate the threats to Lark and the Fortress posed by the gangs. Maniac is determined to protect her, no matter the cost, and claim her as his own, even if it means risking his life.
