About the book

The town of Johnstone Country got its unique name from a fateful incident involving two down-on-their-luck prospectors. While exploring the Rockies, they accidentally set off a stick of dynamite, revealing a massive silver vein. Overwhelmed with excitement, one of the men passed away. The surviving prospector, in honor of his deceased partner, decided to name the place 'Dead Broke' and proclaimed himself mayor of the newly established mining town.

Mayor Allane Auchenleck, known as Nugget, was instrumental in putting Dead Broke on the map. However, when the silver market took a sudden downturn, the once thriving boomtown quickly declined...

Every night, Dead Broke descended into chaos as lawlessness prevailed among the unemployed miners and desperate merchants. Determined to restore order, Mayor Nugget explored various unconventional ideas such as importing mail-order brides, constructing ice structures to attract tourists, and even attempting to deceive investors by claiming other minerals were present in the mines.

Realizing the urgent need for law enforcement, Nugget summoned the renowned gunslinger Mick MacMicking. Meanwhile, a cunning gambler named Connor Boyle had sinister intentions - with a group of hired guns, he plotted to erase Dead Broke from the map to satisfy his own selfish desires.

To save the town from destruction, Nugget, Mick, a inebriated lawman, and a female gambler must confront the chaos and put an end to the bloodshed. Only by reclaiming the essence of Dead Broke and burying the ruthless killers, can Johnstone Country hope to survive and thrive once again.
